Student snakebite death: Sarvajana school reopens partially

Wayanad: Classes resumed partially on Tuesday at Sarvajana Vocational Higher Secondary School in Bathery near here close to a week after Shehala Sherin, a fifth standard student, died of snakebite inside the classroom .

Only classes from 8 th standard to 12 have been started and classes up to 7 th would begin next week.

The school was closed for a week after the student’s death Wednesday last.

Authorities suspended the class teacher, school headmaster, principal and the medical officer of Bathery taluk hospital.

Authorities had transferred teachers in the lower and upper primary section.

 The Bathery Municipality is to demolish the ruined building in which burrow were found
