Thiruvananthapuram: Following heavy rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced an orange alert in seven districts of Kerala .
Districts, witnessing heavy rainfall, including Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Ernakulam and Palakkad are given alerts.
The Kerala Disaster Management Authority (KDMA) announced that storms to continue for another five days.
The orange alert has been issued for districts including Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The heavy rains stem from a low pressure area over the Arabian Sea.
Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Authority has shared the maps of landslide and flood prone areas.
