Kottayam:  Early reports from Pala says that 7 percent vote was recorded as 176 polling booths in the constituency saw voters thronging, starting at 7 am and winding up by 6 pm, to elect a new leader, remaining vacant after the demise of veteran legislator KM Mani.

Officials made all arrangements on Sunday distributing polling equipment to presiding officers at each booth. Polling equipment were taken to both under heavy security.  The district election office tracked the vehicles ferrying EVMs using GPS.

Also, one pink booth, fully staffed with women officials including security personnel, would be arranged at St Vincent School in Kizhathadiyoor.
