Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday stepped in seeking a report from the government regarding the protest by migrant workers flouting the COVID-19 lockdown.

Couple of days ago, migrant workers en bloc had come out on the streets of Payippad and Perumbavoor demanding food and repatriation to their states.

The court stepped in after considering the report filed by amicus curiae as regards the protest.

The court also asked while posting the case on April 3 to inform the measures taken to ensure food and shelter to migrant workers.
