Kerala govt announces Rs 10 lakh for families of the deceased

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government announced Rs 10 lakh each to the mourning families of those died in the Coimbatore bus accident.

An urgent assistance of Rs 2 lakh will immediately be made available, said Transport minister  AK Saseendran.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Kerala has directed officials to make arrangements to meet the medical expenses of those injured.

As per reports, relatives of the deceased started identifying bodies kept at Sankar Hospital Coimbatore here.

Post mortem has been performed on five bodies and have been sent to Kerala.   

As many as 19 people died in the early morning accident involving a freight truck and KSRTC luxury bus from Kerala.
