Thiruvananthapuram: Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan said on Tuesday that the notice given by given by Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala for moving a resolution to recall Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is legally admissible.

The resolution moved under Rule 130 by Mr. Chennithala was “legally admissible”, the speaker said at a press conference here.

The action in this regard will be taken in consultation with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assembly, scheduled to meet on January 31.

The Speaker also said he did not expect a face-off between the Governor and the government in the budget session.

Meanwhile, Opposition leader Chennithala urged the speaker to publish in the Assembly bulletin and circulate among the members the notice on the resolution mooted by the Opposition.
