Coronavirus: First case in India confirmed in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The first case of Novel Coronavirus infection in India has been reported in Kerala, reports say.

Health officials identified the patient as a returned student at Wuhan University. As tested positive to the dreaded infection which has claimed numerous lives in China, the patient has been monitored in isolation in the hospital.

His condition is stable, say authorities.

According to Health Minister K.K. Shylaja, as many as 633 people in Kerala are under observation for possible exposure to the infection as they have returned to Kerala from China.
