Kerala records highest ever daily tally of 488 cases; 1 death

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded one death due to Covid19 on Saturday while 488 more people were tested positive for the viral disease. Of these 234 people are local infectees. Out of the positive cases, 167 people came from abroad and 76 from other states. 143 people were declared recovered from the disease, the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a press conference here.

The infectees include two health workers, 2 ITBP, 2 BSP, BSC4.

570 people with symptoms of the diseases were admitted to the disease on Saturday.

16 places were added to the list of hotspot areas raising the total number to 195.

Chief Minister said that the situation is critical in Thriruvananthapuram and Malappuram where number of infectees with unknown sources are climbing.

It was confirmed on Saturday that two people who died on Friday were infected with the virus.
