"Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 272 new corona cases, the highest ever for a single day since the pandemic outbreak.
The day’s positive cases include 157 returnees from abroad, 38 returnees from other states within the country and 68 local infectees.
The steep rise in number of the local infectees through contact has shocked the authorities.
111 persons were declared cured from the disease on Tuesday.
