Jacob Thomas retired with a difference

Shornur: Known for standing out in officialdom, DGP Jacob Thomas retired with a difference stirring controversy.

Still at loggerheads with the government, on the last day in office Jacob Thomas slept in the cabin floor of MD Metal Industries.

He slept on a spread with a pillow and later he posted a note on facebook, saying it was the beginning and end of the last day at Shornur metal industries office.

He came out of the office with an axe of Parasuram in his hand, which he himself had designed for industrial-scale production.

Everybody needs an axe for the re-creation of Kerala and a weapon like this is necessary, he said.  

Vengeful actions only imbued strength and the mango-tree of my stance was full of mangoes and it was quite natural to get pelted.

While swimming with sharks one could expect biting and loss of life. I also got bites, and I will come out healing the wounds, also with a thicker skin, he said.

It is first time in India an official faced actions for penning autobiography. Stronger books will be rewritten.

There is no truth in the case against me for amassing disproportionate income. It was only a deal of four lakhs. The case would not stand if asked whether I haven't an income of four lakhs. Retirement is just from service but I will continue in service fields, Jacob Thomas said.

He left office by 5.30 declining the customary farewell party.
