Kundara (Kollam): A young cashew processor committed suicide Nallila here.

Forty-year-old Simon was found hanging in his factory nearby his home.

He was missing after lunch on Wednesday before his mother found him hanging.

Nirmala Matha cashew factory, run jointly by his father Mathayi, had been shuttered and the family had a debt of Rs 4 crore, as well as an impending eviction notice from bank.

They mortgaged properties including their relatives’ to tide over the situation, alongside the minister intervened to buy more time for replaying, but things didn’t work out.
