Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Tuesday saw total Covid positive cases go up by 79 to touch 1,366, while so far 1,234 have been cured of the disease, said State Health Minister K.K. Shailaja.

"Of new positive cases registered on Tuesday, 47 came from abroad, while 26 were those who came from within the country. Five were local infectees and one was a health professional," said Shailaja.

She also pointed out 1,22,143 people were in home isolation or corona care centres while 1,986 are in hospitals.

The total hotspots in the state stood at 110, with one new added to the list, while 16 were excluded.

In a related development, the police at Kannur on Tuesday registered a case against a cabin crew official of Air India Express for breaking quarantine norms.

The Kerala Police on Tuesday registered 773 cases and recorded the arrest of 912 people and impounded 245 vehicles for violation of lockdown norms.
