Kannur:  A 65-year-old home-quarantined man died on Sunday morning at Kannariparamba near Cheleri in Kannur.

Adbulkhadar returned from Sharjah in UAE on March 21 and had since been quarantined home, although he had no symptoms of COVID-19, police said.

The relatives had to break open the door after he didn’t respond when they brought him food in the morning.

Finding him unconscious, they rushed him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Body is kept at Kannur government medical college after samples were taken for testing for COVID-19.
