CPM to capitalise on 'Life Mission'text_fields
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government and the LDF are gearing up for an array of development activities through local self governmnt institutions before the polls to be held later this year for the bodies.
The government is contemplating a bunch of activities weighing on the voters of local bodies. These are planned as part of a conviction that such developments can touch people at the grass roots level more than state level projects can do.
Projects that can be implemented across the local bodies will be the flagships of the LDF campaigns in the local polls. The CPM also wants to ensure huge participation of public in the functions. Each local body has been instructed to create five jobs for every 1,000 persons per year. 1.75 lac employment opportunities are expected through this.
Each Local Committee will try to develop at least one school as part of the Save Public Eduction campaign. The party also is preparing thousands of volunteers for pain and palliative activities. The party cadres will be in the ground to ensure that government programmes like post-flood reconstructions, creation of five thousand elderly clubs, distributive waste management facilities, waterstream revivals, organic farming and others are successfully implemented.
Kudumbashree’s 1,000 budget hotels project will be implemented in the LDF-run local bodies before Onam.
CPM has also instructed the local committees to record the beneficiaries of the Life Mission project. The state leadership has asked the lower committees to record the data of the beneficiaries of 'Life Mission' along with their photos taken during the house warming ceremony of such houses. The party has also asked the local committees to respond with photos and videos of the beneficiaries as evidence when the opposition parties are claiming the credit for the project.
