Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has issued an order stipulating 14 days’ quarantine for those who come from red zones in other states.

Earlier, the quarantine requirement was seven days.  Elders above 60 years, children below 14 years, pregnant ladies and the spouses accompanying them should serve 14 days of home quarantine.

Those who arrive at six entry points of Kerala border without the state government’s pass should remain lodged at the government’s quarantine regardless of their starting point of their journey. Paid quarantine facility is also available for those who are coming from red zones.

The place where the traveler intends to spend the quarantine should be informed as he reaches the border. Those who refuse to spend quarantine at the designated place shall face legal actions.

Returning expats will be lodged at government quarantine facilities for seven days. Upon their discharge, they should serve home quarantine of another seven days, Chief Secretary Tom Jose said.
