Thiruvananthapuram: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda said on Sunday that in Kerala, corruption has even crept inside the office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, IANS reported.

Referring to the gold smuggling scam in the state, Nadda said, "Corruption has made its way even to the office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan," IANS quoted. He is on a two-day visit to Kerala.

Speaking at Nagambadam, where the Kottayam district committee office of the BJP is located, Nadda claimed that the CPI(M) led government in Kerala is building a debt trap, and the state's debt almost doubled.

Further, he said he "salutes the BJP workers of Kerala who have been murdered", quotes IANS. He claimed that lawlessness is spreading unchecked in the state.

He even made a curious statement, "There is no place for violence in politics."

Claiming that the drug menace is rising high in the state, he urged Kerala people to support BJP's programmes and policies for total development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's programmes benefited the people of the country, he went on to claim.

"The people of Kerala must support the BJP for a total change," he said.

Nadda arrived in the state in Kochi and was welcomed by BJP Kerala unit president K Surendran and state in-charge and former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar. He will travel to Thiruvananthapuram on Monday and attend different party programmes.

There are speculations that a change might happen in the state leadership, and Nadda's arrival hints at that.
