Thiruvananthapuram: Expressing concern in the growing atrocities against women and children in Kerala, Top CPI leader Annie Raja on Wednesday levelled serious allegations against the Kerala Police for lack of action against such incidents.

She alleged that a section in the Kerala Police is working against the accepted policy of the state government towards women and hinted that this is being done purposely as there is an RSS gang in the police.

"There is suspicion of an RSS gang in the Kerala police. Many recent incidents of police intervention in the state show that the police have been taking deliberate steps against the government's declared stand" Annie Raja said,as reported by The New Indian Express.

Annie Raja also called for a separate department to be set up exclusively for women and children said that she would write to the Chief Minister pressing her demand in this regard.

"Today it's clubbed with another department. We have raised this demand with the Left Democratic Front and we expect that it will be taken up and we also need a separate minister for this," said Raja.
