Death toll in Kalamassery blasts rises to five as woman under treatment dies

Kalamassery: A 44-year-old woman who was receiving treatment passed suddenly on Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths from the Kalamassery explosions to five.
When multiple explosions occurred at the prayer meeting at the Zamra Convention Centre on October 29, Saly Pradeepan was injured and was receiving ventilator support at Aster Medcity. She had about 55% burns, and the hospital's authorities stated that her situation was severe. The death was officially declared on Saturday at 10:07 p.m. Following post-mortem procedures on Sunday, the body will be released to the family, the New Indian Express reported.
Pradeepan, a native of Malayattoor, has lost both his wife and daughter as a result. His daughter Libna, twelve, passed away in the Ernakulam Government Medical College Hospital on October 30. Saly came to the prayer meeting with her three kids. Her 24-year-old son Praveen is also receiving ventilator support at Aster Medcity, while Rahul only suffered minor wounds and survived.
Liyona Poulose, 55, Kumari, 53, and Molly Joy, 61, were the other victims of the explosions. Eight of the seventeen patients receiving treatment right now are admitted to the intensive care unit.
