Thiruvananthapuram: Setting aside political differences, the Kerala Legislative Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution demanding the Centre to provide free Covid-19 vaccination to all.

A day after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reiterated in the house that the government had placed the order for one crore COVID-19 vaccine doses, Minister for Health, Veena George, moved the resolution in the House for free universal vaccination.

"In order to fight Covid-19, we need to provide free universal vaccination which will ensure that all sections of the society are protected from the virus," said Veena George.

The resolution also asked the union government for timely distribution of the vaccines.

"If we could take necessary steps for speeding up the vaccination, it would help the economy also," she added urging everyone to join hands for timely completion of vaccination.
