Kerala records new high of 1564 Covid cases

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister KK Shailaja told media that 1564 new Covid 19 cases were recorded on Thursday in the state.

Thiruvananthapuram recorded highest number of the cases (434) among the districts.

Kannur and Wayanad recorded lowest number of cases with 27 infectees.

766 people were declared recovered from the disease taking the total number of cured to 25,962.

At present 13,839 people are undergoing treatment for the viral disease.

Three deaths were recorded on Thursday as due to Covid.

Of those who tested positive for the disease on Thursday, 60 came from foreign countries while 100 came from other states in the country.

1380 contracted the disease through social contact. 15 health workers also tested positive for the disease.

There are 1,53,061 people undergoing observation throughout the state.
