Kadakkal: What initially appeared to be a shocking incident of an Indian soldier being attacked and marked with "PFI" on his back in Kerala's Kadakkal has taken an unexpected turn, as investigations reveal that the soldier himself fabricated the story.

Shine Kumar (35), a jawan working in the Indian Army in Rajasthan, and his friend Joshy are now in police custody following the revelation.

In his initial complaint, Shine Kumar alleged that he was taken away to a nearby forest area, and beaten up by a group of individuals while on his way to a friend's house on Sunday night. He claimed that the group not only physically assaulted him but also tore his shirt and wrote "PFI" on his back using green paint.

This claim set off a wave of concern and media attention in the region.

However, as the investigation progressed, it became evident that the entire incident had been concocted. The paint and brush purportedly used to write "PFI" on Shine's back were recovered, and Shine's friend, Joshy, admitted to being the one behind the act.

Joshy's revelation shed light on Shine's motivations for filing the false complaint. According to Joshy, Shine had a desire for fame and recognition, which led him to fabricate the story of the attack.

Police are now treating this case as a serious matter of deception and false reporting. Both Shine Kumar and Joshy have been taken into police custody pending further investigation.
