Music and sleep quality have been linked for a long time. But a new study has narrowed it down to songs with a higher degree of energy, like BTS' Dynamite, Billie Eilish's Lovely, and Coldplay's The Scientist.

The study held at the Centre for Music in the Brain at Aarhus University in Denmark has claimed that loud, energetic music can facilitate better sleep. Scientists also claim that there is no 'one size fits all' solution when it comes to the music people choose to help in sleeping, reported The Independent.

Kira Vibe Jespersen, a professor at the University, said that the team's hypothesis is that familiarity with the music makes the music very predictable to the brain. This predictability may enable sleep, despite the music being upbeat and energetic. Researchers analysed over 200,00 tracks from 1,000 playlists on Spotify.

Scientists found typically slow and quiet music associated with sleep was found on people's playlists. But many also had music that had a higher degree of energy than the average sleep music. "I was surprised by the amount of variation in the music that people choose to listen to for sleep. I was expecting some degree of variation, but not that much," said the author.

However, the team cannot be sure how much these songs help with sleep quality without sleep data from users.
