New Delhi: A further 30,254 new Covid cases and 391 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours in India.

The nation's overall case load stands at 98,57,029 and the death toll has touched 1,43,019, data from the Ministry of Health showed.

A total of 33,136 newly recovered took the total cured to 93,57,464, posting the recovery rate at 94.93 per cent. The fatality rate is 1.45 as per cent. There are now 3,56,546 active cases.

As many as 15,37,11,833 samples have so far been tested for Covid-19. Of these, 10,14,434 samples were tested on Friday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state with 18,76,699 cases till date.

As well as union territory, ten states including Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana reported Over 72 per cent of the daily new cases.

As many as eight Covid-19 vaccine candidates, including three indigenous ones, are under different stages of clinical trials.
