Manama: Bahrain Tourism Minister Fatima Al-Sairafi revealed plans for inter-GCC tourism packages, aiming to enhance the tourism sector's growth. Manama was designated as the Gulf Tourism Capital of 2024, further solidifying its significance in the region. The Minister was speaking during the event of the tourism calendar release.

The calendar of tourism and entertainment events for the year was released by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca). Among the unveiled events, Manama Nights, an outdoor festival located outside Bahrain National Theatre, promises an array of delights including food vendors, local businesses, and live music.

BTEA chief executive Sara Buhijji emphasized Bahrain's vision to promote tourism within the GCC and globally.

“Bahrain continues to encourage tourism from other GCC countries and promote the Arabian Gulf to the rest of the world as a united tourism front. It will be easier for overseas tourists to visit Bahrain and neighbouring countries as a package, instead of just passing through each of them individually”, said Buhijji.

Ms Buhijji highlighted recent agreements between Bahrain and tourism sector officials in Saudi Arabia, along with a push for cooperation when it comes to cruises and tour operators across the GCC.

Director of Business and Licensing (Tourism) Majeed Al Majeed highlighted innovative programs aimed at showcasing Bahrain's cultural diversity to tourists.

Manama Nights offers a vibrant schedule of Ramadan activities, iftar packages and hotel deals, open daily from 8 pm to midnight on weekdays and till 1 am on weekends.

The 'Ramadan in Bahrain' schedule includes traditional events across various municipalities and locations such as Suq Al Baraha, Budaiya Botanical Gardens, and Bahrain Harbour. More information about these events can be found on calendar.bh or @calendar.bh on Instagram.
