Dubai: Indian students appearing for the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2024 in the UAE received their first exam centre option as the Indian High School (IHS) located in Oud Metha, Dubai. This announcement marks a significant milestone for Indian students pursuing medical education in India.

NEET serves as the primary entrance examination for undergraduate medical courses in India and is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the auspices of India's Ministry of Education. The allocation of the NEET exam centre at the Indian High School in Dubai provides a crucial opportunity for students residing in the UAE to undertake this pivotal examination without the need to travel to India and the concomitant hassles and stress.

Mr. Punit MK Vasu, CEO of the Indian High Group of Schools, expressed his satisfaction with the school's selection as a NEET centre for the fourth consecutive year.

“We understand the challenges that learners’ families face in having to make arrangements for them to travel to India alone or escorted to take an exam of such importance. It is for this reason that the school offered its facilities and resources to various Indian ministerial bodies for the prestigious exam”, Mr Vasu said to GulfNews.

The NEET exam at the Indian High School in Dubai is scheduled to take place on May 5, pending final approvals. Prospective candidates have until March 9 to complete their registration on the NEET registration 2024 official website.

While the NEET centre allocation for Abu Dhabi and Sharjah remains unconfirmed, candidates residing in these Emirates are encouraged to monitor official announcements for updates.

The NTA had recently announced measures to accommodate overseas students, allowing them to select exam centres in foreign cities. Candidates who have already registered for centres in India will have the opportunity to modify their preferences during a designated correction window after the registration period concludes. However, changes in centre preferences may incur additional fees, as candidates will be required to pay the differential amount.

For candidates registering afresh from foreign countries, the NTA has streamlined the process, enabling them to select their preferred country and city directly during the application process.

This initiative reflects the commitment of Indian educational authorities to facilitate access to higher education for Indian students residing overseas, ensuring fairness and inclusivity in the examination process.

As the NEET registration deadline approaches, Indian students in the UAE are urged to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Indian High School in Dubai and make necessary preparations for this critical examination.

For further updates and information regarding NEET registration and examination procedures, candidates are advised to visit the official NEET website and stay tuned to official announcements from relevant authorities.
