Dubai: Among Gulf countries, Eid al-Fitr has been declared to be on Monday in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, as Shawwal Crescent has not got sighted on Saturday. Thus Ramadan will complete 30 days in these countries.

However, no decision has been made on Eid in Oman, where it will be the 29th of Ramadan on Sunday. If the Crescent is sighted here that day, Eid will be on Monday and, if not, on Tuesday.

This year, Eidgahs and mosques will be active in Gulf countries, with most Covid -19 restrictions lifted. Malayali communities here have organised various cultural events as part of Eid.
