Oman nationals can now apply for e-visas (electronic visa) to travel to India, the Indian Embassy in Oman announced through Twitter. With the exemption of the e-Tourist visa, India will approve all sub-categories of e-visas consisting of e-Business visa, e-Medical visa, e-Medical Attendant visa and e-Conference visa with immediate effect.

Foreigners visiting India on a Student visa, Medical visa or Research visa and Employment visa or for more than 180 days are mandated to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival, stated the Indian Immigration Bureau. However, children under the age of 16 are exempted from registration.

All foreign nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport with a valid visa from an Indian authority or e-Visa from the Bureau of Immigration under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Applicants for e-Visa can also utilize India Visa Online (indianvisaonline.gov.in) website for registration.

The e-Visa facility has been granted to various other countries, including the UAE, the US, Thailand, South Africa, Myanmar, Korea, Philippines, Israel, and Singapore.

India currently stands second globally in Covid-19 spread, reaching ahead of Brazil with the US on the top.
