Covid-19: Saudi reports 1,029 new positive cases, 3 deaths

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has registered more than a thousand Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, a first since February this year. The number of cases added on the day was 1,029, Arab News reported.

Out of the number, 341 were reported in the Kingdom's capital, Riyadh, while 190 were in Jeddah, 133 in Dammam, 48 in Makkah and 41 in Madinah. Meanwhile, certain other cities lodged less than35 cases each to push the tally over 1,000.

In addition to this, the health ministry reported three deaths related to the pandemic and the cumulative death count reached 9,163. When 616 patients recovered from the highly contagious disease, which has rocked the globe for two solid years, it pushed the number of total recoveries to 7,56,871.

The Kingdom has administered more than 66 million vaccine doses against the pandemic through Saudi's immunization campaign, which covered 25 million people fully vaccinated.
