Indian Consulate celebrates India Maha Utsav as part of Indias 75 years of independence.

The event has show cased rich cultural diversity of India with various performances. 

Jeddah: Consulate General of India, Jeddah on Saturday celebrated India Maha Utsav, a cultural mega-festival showcasing the rich diversity of India's culture, as part of the celebration of 75 years of India's independence. The cultural extravaganza was organised at International Indian School Jeddah on 11 December 2021 in association with India Forum.


Around 600 persons including Saudis, persons of Indian origin and Indian community members joined the MahaUtsav (mega-celebration). Live streaming of the event was also joined by hundreds of viewers.

The evening was graced by the presence of Chief Guest HE. Mohd. Shahid Alam, Consul General of India and many eminent dignitaries including Padma Shri Ms Nouf Marwai, President of Saudi Yoga Committee; Mr Abdullah Al-Qasabi, President of Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN); Mr Mazin Batterjee, Chairman, Batterjee Holding Company; Mr Alungal Mohammed, CMD of Al Abeer Medical Group and several prominent Saudis and Indians.


The sight was unique and beautiful as the Indians from different cultures came adorned in colourful ethnic dresses. The atmosphere was exhilarating as the beautifully orchestrated performances by over 190 talented performers kept the audience enthralled throughout the cultural audio-visual treat.

The cultural extravaganza was rich with a variety of dances, songs and performances of classical, folk, patriotic and regional themes. The audience enjoyed the beautifully choreographed dance performances like Dandiya, Garba, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali etc.
