Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, engaged in pivotal discussions to fortify the enduring ties between their respective nations and enhance collaborative efforts across the Gulf region.

The meeting was during the Kuwait Emir’s visit to the UAE. The leaders convened at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi to deliberate on multifaceted aspects of their relationship, affirming their commitment to mutual prosperity and shared goals.

During the meeting, President Sheikh Mohamed and Emir Sheikh Mishal emphasized the significance of economic cooperation, recognizing the substantial progress achieved in economic, trade and investment domains over recent years. Addressing regional challenges, the leaders stated the importance of enhancing unity within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework, prioritizing regional security and stability.

Both leaders reiterated the UAE and Kuwait's pivotal roles as proponents of collective efforts within the GCC, emphasizing the commitment to nurturing a cooperative framework for the welfare of all member states.

President Sheikh Mohamed commended Emir Sheikh Mishal's strategic measures to promote cooperation among Gulf nations, expressing complete support for Kuwait's initiatives aimed at fostering regional unity. Sheikh Mohamed also expressed confidence in Emir Sheikh Mishal's leadership, recognizing Kuwait's significant contributions to regional advancement, particularly in education and healthcare.

Emir Sheikh Mishal extended gratitude to the UAE leadership and people for their warm hospitality, reflecting on the strong friendship between the two nations.

The high-level meeting was attended by distinguished officials, including Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among others. President Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon for Emir Sheikh Mishal and the Kuwaiti delegation, fostering camaraderie and further strengthening bilateral ties.

The discussions between President Sheikh Mohamed and Emir Sheikh Mishal highlight the unwavering vision to advancing bilateral relations and enhancing joint Gulf cooperation, marking a significant step towards regional well-being and security.
