Dubai: To reinforce food safety and promote a safe food culture in Dubai city, the website of 'Cook, Cater and Consume' campaign jointly organized by Gulf Madhyamam and Dubai Municipality was launched by Jehaina Al Ali, Section Manager, Permits and Applied Nutrition, Dubai Municipality.
The website offers guidelines and directions for the growth of eateries and restaurants in Dubai.
The event, held at the Dubai Municipality headquarters, was graced by top officials of the municipality, representatives of Gulf Madhyamam and representatives of leading business organizations. Institutions and individuals can register and participate in the campaign through the website www.cccsdubai.com.
"I am glad to be a part of this campaign organized in collaboration with a Malayalam language institution," Jehaina Al Ali said. He wished the joint initiative and the campaign success.
The campaign aims to reach out to the hotels, restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, catering establishments and the general public with food safety recommendations from Dubai Municipality, the top government department in Dubai, and thereby help the establishments to enhance their grades.
The campaign also aims to guide restaurant owners and employees, penalized due to negligence and ignorance. In addition to the guidelines provided by Gulf Madhyamam - the leading newspaper of the expatriate world - the campaign will elucidate on food safety by institution visits, webinars and pamphlets. The website www.cccsdubai.com serves this purpose.
Those who register through the website have the opportunity to win attractive prizes, food safety management recognition and certificates once every two weeks. As the campaign reaches people from different countries, the information on the website is available in Arabic, Malayalam, English and Urdu.
Safe shopping tips, food storage tips, hygiene awareness, instructions on how to cook, serve and consume food safely and disinfection protocols of the Covid era will all be made available to the public through the website in the coming days. Debates, discussions and online quizzes by Dubai Municipality representatives are also part of the campaign to raise community awareness.
