Air India Express issues Covid guidelines for passengers from UAE

Kochi: In a move to curb the rise in Covid cases, the Air India Express on Tuesday issued fresh guidelines for the travellers arriving from United Arab Emirates (UAE) to maintain Covid-appropriate behaviour.
The guideline directs that all visitors should be preferably be completely immunized as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination against Covid-19 in their country. Also, it states that the travellers should take necessary precautionary measures such as the use of masks and physical distancing.
"All guests should preferably be fully vaccinated as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination against COVID-19 in their country. All guests should preferably use masks and follow physical distancing on flights/travel and at all points of entry," the official Twitter handle of Air India Express tweeted.
Meanwhile, the guidelines stated that random testing is not mandatory for children under the age of 12, post arrival. But they are required to undergo testing and get treatment according to the protocol if they are discovered to be symptomatic for Coivd-19.
"Children under 12 years of age are exempted from post-arrival random testing. However, if found symptomatic for COVID-19 on arrival or during the period of self-monitoring, they shall undergo testing and be treated as per the protocol," the advisory by Air India Express read.
Recently, The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) in another guideline, has said that at least two per cent of the passengers arriving by International flights will have to undergo RT-PCR tests.
According to MoCA, passengers are to be identified by the airline and will be allowed to leave the airport only after sample collection. Those tested positive will be isolated, and samples will be sent for genome sequencing.
