UAE flying cars launched in 2025, Vertical Airports at Palm Jumeirah and Abu Dhabi Corniche

Dubai: The futuristic dream of UAE residents to travel in flying cars is on the verge of becoming a reality, with Archer, the US electric flying carmaker, joining forces with Falcon Aviation, a prominent UAE-based aviation services operator. This pioneering collaboration aims to establish vertiports, or vertical airports, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, introducing a new era of urban air mobility.

Vertiports, designed for Archer's Midnight aircraft, will redefine the concept of airports. These strategic locations at Falcon Heliport in Atlantis the Palm, Dubai and the Marina Mall heliport in Abu Dhabi's Corniche will revolutionize commuting, reducing a 60–90-minute car journey to a mere 10-30 minute electric air taxi flight. Archer's innovative approach promises safe, low-noise flights that are cost-competitive with ground transportation.

The heart of the project lies in Archer's Midnight aircraft - a piloted, four-passenger marvel, engineered for rapid back-to-back flights with minimal charge time. Operating entirely over the water, the Midnight aircraft promises passengers breathtaking views of both the cityscape and the Arabian Sea.

Captain Ramandeep Oberoi, the CEO of Falcon Aviation, highlighted the company's leading role in helicopter passenger transport in the UAE for nearly two decades.

Archer's Chief Commercial Officer, Nikhil Goel, expressed the significant strides the company has taken in the UAE within the past three months, following the announcement that Abu Dhabi and Dubai will host their inaugural international midnight flights by 2025.

Joby Aviation, a US-based company developing all-electric aircraft for commercial passenger service, signed an agreement with Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) earlier this year. The collaboration aims to launch air taxi services by early 2026, with Joby eyeing initial operations as early as 2025.

Further, Joby has partnered with Skyports to plan, construct and manage four vertiport sites across Dubai, including Dubai International Airport, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Downtown.
