US and UK authorities have announced sanctions against the Gaza Now media channel and individuals associated with it over allegations of fundraising for Hamas.

The Treasury Department stated that Gaza Now, led by its founder Mustafa Ayash, began fundraising for Hamas following its attack on October 7. This attack resulted in numerous casualties in Israel, prompting an attack from Israel that claimed 32,000 lives in Gaza, according to official figures.

US Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson emphasized the commitment to disrupting Hamas' financial networks, including online fundraising activities directly benefiting the group.

The sanctions extend to Aozma Sultana, director of companies alleged to have provided financial support to Gaza Now. The UK Government has also imposed asset freezes against individuals suspected of backing Gaza Now, which promotes Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

"All funds and economic resources in the UK belonging to or controlled by Sultana and Ayash have been frozen," stated the UK Treasury.
