New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is not responsible for the poll debacle that the party faced, Congress leader A.K. Antony said Friday.

Antony, who headed a committee that probed the reason's for Congress' loss in the Lok Sabha poll, submitted its report to party president Sonia Gandhi Thursday.

"Rahul Gandhi was not responsible for poll debacle... I am not going to reveal or say anything about the content of the report," Antony told reporters here.

"Rahul and Sonia ji were the ones who held rallies across the country. Something else was the reason for the loss," he said.

Party leader Mukul Wasnik, who was a member of the committee, said: "Congress will reclaim its glory in the leadership of Sonia ji and Rahul ji."

A four member committee was formed under the leadership of former defence minister A.K. Antony, which looked into the reason for Congress' defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha poll.

Congress, which led the former government, could win only 44 seats in 16th Lok Sabha.
