One dead, 7 injured in Ghaziabad building collapse

Ghaziabad: One person was killed and seven others were injured when an under-construction building collapsed in Ghaziabad on Sunday, police said.

SSP Dharmendra Yadav said the incident took place in Tronica City police station area of the district where the under-construction building collapsed and those working in it were feared to be trapped under the debris.

He said efforts were being made to rescue those trapped in the debris.

Yadav said one person had died while the seven injured have been sent to hospital for treatment.

Police and district administration officials reached the spot to oversee the rescue and relief operations, while work is underway to remove the debris.
