Agartala: The CPI-M is likely to adopt a new political strategy at the four-day central committee meeting beginning Sunday, a party leader said here Wednesday.

The new political tactical strategy which was drafted in the politburo meetings held Sep 10-12 and Oct 13-14 would be finalised in the central committee meeting in New Delhi from Oct 26, a CPI-M leader said.

"After finalising the strategy, programmes and party documents in the four-day meeting, these would be placed before the next party Congress for its endorsement," the leader told IANS, preferring not to be named.

The leader refused to disclose any details of the new strategy to be adopted at the 93-member central committee meeting.

He said the state party conferences of 24 state units would be held between December this year and March next year.

The 21st Party Congress of the CPI-M would be held at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh April 14-19 next year.
