New Delhi: In a major revelation in the infamous Dadri lynching case, the report submitted by the chief veterinary officer said that the meat found in the victim's house was mutton and not beef.

The veterinary officer in his report said, "Prima facie it seems that meat found in Dadri lynching victim's house belongs to goat progeny."

The report also said that samples have been taken for final diagnosis, and have been sent to the forensic laboratory in Mathura.

The report has come less than a week after the Gautambudh Nagar Police charged 15 people, including a minor, in this case.

Akhlaq (50), the victim who was killed, and his son Danish (20) were attacked by a mob after rumours spread that the family had consumed and stored beef in their house at Bishara village in Dadri in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh on September 28.
