New Delhi: Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday announced Rs 1 crore as an award to Olympic medal winner wrestler Sakshi Malik.

Sisodia's announcement came while his visited Sakshi's native place Rohtak, Haryana.

He also announced a direct promotion for Sakshi Malik's father Sukhbir Malik - a bus conductor with Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).

Sakshi won a freestyle wrestling bronze medal in the 58 kg category at the ongoing Rio Olympics on Wednesday.
