My mediation on Ayodhya dispute receiving positive response: Ravi Shankar

Kolkata: Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Friday claimed that he has received "positive response" in his bid to mediate for a solution to the Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi dispute at Ayodhya, and said that an "out of court" settlement was the best solution to the issue.

"I am talking to all people (stakeholders). Both the communities must come together. An out-of-court settlement is the best solution to this problem," he said

Ravi Shankar also said that he had been receiving "positive response" on the matter from several quarters since his visit to Ayodhya last month.

However, the spiritual leader refused to respond to the Congress' accusation that he was a "government agent", but said "whatever I do, I do on my own".

In October, Ravi Shankar had expressed his willingness to mediate in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi dispute, and met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.

He has also held consultations with Muslim Personal Law Board members and leaders of the Nirmohi Akhara and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
