Belagavi: The temple “prasada” served at Kicchugatti Maramma temple in Sulwadi village of Chamarajanagar district that claimed 14 lives was found to have traces of monocrotophos, an organophosphate insecticide.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister G Perameshwara informed the assembly as much, while stating that an inquiry is underway to find out who mixed the chemical in the sacred offering.
The truth would come out in a day or two, he said. Reportedly seven persons are in custody, while search is on for other suspects.
