New Delhi: The Supreme Court has postponed hearing of the Babari Masjid case to March 14.

The court reached this decision because the translation of documents related to the cases could not be completed. All the parties to the case have now to submit the English translation of the documents by March 7.

The bench consisting of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Ashok Bhushan, and Justice Abdul Naseer considered the case on Thursday. The Chief Justice made it clear the case would be considered only as a dispute over land. The Bench also commented that only after the arguments by the petitioners in the case was completed, would they hear the arguments of Subramaniam Swamy and Shyam Benegal.

The earlier verdict by the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court was to split the property into three parts to be equally divided among Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhada which argued its case for a Ram Temple against the Waqf Board, and Ramlala Virajman. All the three parties filed appeal aginst this verdict, termed as unfeasible.

When the case came up for hearing earlier, the SC asked for their arguments to be submitted in writing, and asked for the documents to be produced in Englishtranslation from their source language.
