Lok Sabha adjourned sine die, records 91% productivity

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Friday, bringing the short Winter Session to an end. The Lower House has recorded 91 per cent productivity.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said the House sat for 61 hours over 13 sittings.

The Lower House passed 13 bills while 16 Government Bills were introduced. The session started on December 15.

The Speaker said over 14 hours and 51 minutes were lost due to disruptions and adjournments. However, the House sat late for 8 hours and 10 minutes to discuss important issues.

During the session, 280 starred questions were listed, of which 45 were answered orally. On an average, about 3.46 questions were answered a day.

Written replies to the remaining starred questions along with 3,220 unstarred questions were laid on the table.

Standing Committees presented 41 reports to the House.

As many as 55 statements were made by the Ministers on important subjects and 2,255 papers were laid on the table.

Separately, 98 Private Members' Bills were introduced.
