SP leader’s wife held for son’s death

Lucknow: Wife of Ramesh Yadav, senior Samajwadi Party leader and Utter Pradesh Legislative Council chairman, was arrested on Monday on charges of murdering their son.

Meera Yadav, second wife of Yadav, allegedly strangulated their son Abhijeet Yadav in a fit of rage.

Abhijeet, in his 20s, was found dead in his home at the State capital on Sunday.

However, the family told the police that it was a natural death and they didn’t want investigation.

But family’s bid to perform last rites in a hurry made police to seek post-mortem. The autopsy report said the young man died of strangulation.

Meera allegedly confessed to the crime, the Hindu reported quoting the police.
