Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been trying to topple the coalition government in Karnata by offering crores of rupees to Congress MLAs to woo them, alleged KC Venugopal All India Congress Committee general secretary, in charge of Karnataka on Dunday. Venugopal was speaking to reporters after meetings with Congress leaders. He alleged that the BJP was using black money to lure Congress legislators. Congress MLAs will not fall into the trap of BJP's black money, he said.

Mr. Venugopal also claimed that BJP was spreading false reports about possible defections from Congress. He said: “It is the game of the BJP. They are believing in Central agencies and money. They think that with their black money, they can topple this government. But it is not going to happen. This government is very intact.”

Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Friday alleged that “kingpins” involved in gambling and illegal lottery business were supplying money to BJP leaders for toppling his government by luring the legislators of ruling parties.

In Tumakuru, BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa said that he and his party had nothing to do with the alleged dissidence among Congress leaders, particularly the Jarkiholi brothers.

Speaking to presspersons after visiting the Siddaganga Mutt, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that whatever was happening within the Congress was because of party’s internal bickering and the BJP had no role in it.
