New Delhi: Utter Pradesh is usually the bellwether state when it comes to LS polls: any party winning supremacy in the state will be ruling the nation.
Given this truth, Modi bandwagon will have hard time coming to power. In the last polls, BJP won 71 out of 80 making its way to power.
The Grand Alliance, formed by SP, BSP and Lokdal, has already given troubles to BJP.
There would not be much difference in percentage of votes gained by each alliance.
However, BJP will lose at least 40 seats, thus tying the party to just 30.
Online portal The Wire thus predicted assessing data garnered from 2014 LS and Assembly polls, and information available on Election Commission’s website.
