Hyderabad Muslims condemn Sri Lanka bomb blasts

Hyderabad: In a moving gesture of unity post terrorist attack in Sri Lanka, Muslim clerics in Hyderabad came out expressing solidarity with the victims.

In one of many instances this Sunday, an Imam addressed a congregation at Hyderabad’s St George’s Church talking about peace, condemning terror attack, The New Indian Express reported.

Many churches in the city saw Muslim clergy and scholars speaking of religious harmony in churches.

Fathers and pastors alongside Muslim clerics preached about peace.

During the worship service, Shaikh Mirza Yawer Baig, an Imam of Masjid Mahmood Habib in Banjara Hills along with other Muslim clergy and scholars, visited the church, the report said.

Addressing a congregation Baig said, “God is one, whatever name you call or however way you worship. But as far as this world is concerned, we are brothers and sisters to one and other”.

The report also said that members of Christian churches in the city demand of metal detectors to be placed at doors for security checks.
