Bollywood Actors sought Judicial Probe into Loss of Lives, Damage to Properties

New Delhi: At a press conference here on Thursday Bollywood actors Swara Bhasker, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub and seven others sought judicial probe into the police crackdown on protesters in UP.

The actors in the statement also asked for action against those involved in violence during the protest.

Swara Bhasker and Zeeshan Ayyub in an appeal signed by 9 actors, stated that they do not endorse or support any form of violence or vandalism.

 Those involved in violence must be booked under relevant laws and put to legal process.

 However, they support the right of the citizen for peaceful protest, and said that the right had been curbed in UP.

 The actors appealed the courts "to take suo moto cognizance of what has ensued in UP”, while requesting a judicial probe into the loss of life and damage to property.
