New Delhi: The government appears to be confident of getting adequate numbers to bring the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in Rajya Sabha next week.
Alliance partners of BJP government including Janata Dal (United), and some regional parties could support the bill.
Meanwhile, a senior JD(U) leader reportedly said the party would support the bill. However, earlier the party termed the bill as controversial and sought for examination of its provisions.
With 102 members of the 245-member Rajya Sabha, NDA is close to the majority mark of 120.
