New Delhi: Kamal Haasan said his remarks on a plebiscite in Kashmir were “completely twisted’.

Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party leader, at an event held this weekend, was speaking about the Pulwama attack.

“He described his conversations with the parents of two soldiers who were killed, and said he once predicted -- while writing in a magazine -- how things would turn out in Kashmir. It was in that context that he asked why a plebiscite was never held in Kashmir. That sparked an angry backlash on Twitter, where users posted comments like this one.” India Today reported.

In a statement, The Makkal Needhi Maiam explained that Kamal Haasan’s remarks were "in the context of a magazine article published three decades ago about an option that was available at one point in time..."
